It’s the IHRA Summit SuperSeries program, however, that is such a good fit for the track’s bracket racers. They excelled at the IHRA Division 9 (Summit) Team Finals where James Lester (Top) and Robert Rayfield (Mod) won main event titles and Pageland Dragway finished second in the team standings.
Aaron Beard from Pageland won the track operators’ race. Wayne Couick finished runner-up in the Top Gamblers race and Rylan Williams was the Junior winner. Pageland Dragway also was honored with a special awards as the Best Appearing Team.
Those racers as well as those who qualified for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering through the track’s points — Trey Deese (Top), Aaron Brock (Mod), Trevor Jenkins (Motorcycle) and Hannah Snipes (Junior Dragster) — certainly had seasons to remember.
Track owners Ben and Mandy Harris even got a special visit from IHRA Owner Larry Jeffers and IHRA President Mel Roth back in August. It helped show the commitment which the IHRA has to the Sportsman racer.
“It’s about having fun and our racers enjoy IHRA,” track owner Ben Harris said. “The IHRA has a down-to-earth attitude and there’s a camaraderie among the racers. The IHRA’s program fits well with our track.”
Located in the true racing hotbed of the Carolinas, halfway between Charlotte and Darlington, Pageland Dragway offers plenty of great action, whether it’s grudge racing or bracket racing.
